The Wolfpack Satchel

I'm just going to come out with it now, because I am sure there will be many references to it in the future.  My name is Alpha and I am the leader of a 4-man Wolfpack.  I used to be a one-man wolf pack but things changed.  There is a Beta, Gamma and a Delta now.  We even have a couple honorary members - not to mention a long list of people waiting for one of us to die off so they can take our place.  That's not happening, but it's all good.

The Pack has a tradition of meeting on Saturdays at our local indoor track for an early morning "walk-n-talk".  They do not have a coat rack in the track area which means when we go in, we only take our keys, etc.  We always end up shoving everything in one person's jacket and hoping for the best.  Well, I have an iPhone 4 - and in Michigan the average temp is about 15-20 degrees right now (read: I am not leaving my phone in the car!) - but I also don't want my stuff getting taken - so I came up with the Wolf Pack Satchel and made one for all of my besties.  It's not a purse - it's a Satchel.  Indiana Jones carries one, you know.  Figured we can sling 'em on and keep all our stuff safe - there is even room for a water bottle (and a pocket for a shank, Beta!).

Mancub Colorbag

The Mancub Colorbag is where it all started. I've got kids. They get antsy. They like to have "their stuff" with them at all times. A very close friend crafted something like this for my boys as a gift and I got her permission to switch it up and start making some for my own nieces/nephews/friends. Comes in two sizes the (sm) and the (lg).


The (sm) measures approximately 6-7" wide 8-10" tall (enough room for 1/2 sheets of construction paper) and has pockets on the front and back to accommodate 10 markers/pencils/crayons.  Perfect for the toddler/preschooler/early elementary age kid.

The (lg) measures approximately 12-14" wide and 16-18" tall and has larger pockets on front and back for art supplies/ipod/cords/etc. Perfect for the tween/teen/adult.

 

All bags will be unique and may vary slightly in size depending on materials on hand. I will sometimes customize for a specific person by adding a different strap (ex: zander.1210)

oh, hello.

OK, so at the urging of my amazing friends and family, I decided to give this thing a whirl. 

Figured that this could be the place where I show off my amateur sewing skills and awesome use of the English language (read: do not judge me).
