getting closer....

Sitting on the couch with Hubs, watching him navigate his way through all the code and insanity that will be the NEW alphastar WEBSITE with CATALOG & SHOPPING CART!!!  Woohoooo!  Super excited.  I tell ya, I am one lucky girl to have such a talented and brilliant partner-in-crime.

News:  Hubs will be going back to work full-time as of June 1.  Not anything glamorous (really, it is back to the job he was laid-off from), and it's for less $$ *grrr*, but after almost 9 months of unemployment we'll take it.  Stepping stone.

With that new development, how I do things for alphastar will be changing a little.  I have a couple ideas as to how I can maximize my time and what approach will work best.  Adapting sucks, but I LOVE what I do and I am not planning on stopping anytime soon.  One of my favorite things about Hubs and I is how well we work together as a team.  We have very common goals and our priorities are absolutely the same.  That makes coming up with solutions a breeze.  We give, we take.

I am feverishly working on completing my list of special-order stuff in the remaining time I have before June 1 -and that will give the boys a couple nice days with just Dad before everyone has to get used to the fact that he's not going to be around here during the daytime.

Maybe one day we can both work from home in our jammies and take breaks for family snuggle time.  A girl can dream, right?

cheers!

My sister-in-law and I crosssing the 5K finish line!
Oh...and for those of you interested, the Race For the Cure 5K went great!  My allergies were really bad that day, so had a little bit of a hard time not feeling like my lungs were full of glue - but I came away from it satisfied with my performance.  I couldn't have asked for better company, we had beautiful weather, and all for a super important cause!  Thank you for your support!

Race For The Cure

On May 21, I will be running my FIRST 5K - The Komen Race For The Cure in Detroit! This is HUGE - a very important milestone for me personally.

I have been very blessed in my life - part that blessing includes my AMAZING Mother-in-Law, Diane. She has taught me countless things, but the most invaluable one is to face difficult situations with a POSITIVE attitude, a sense of humor and the faith that "everything will work itself out".

Diane and Gary - my amazing in-laws
Diane is a breast cancer survivor and Gary is a two-time cancer survivor.

Diane's strength and determination through her breast cancer treatment inspired me to do something I never thought I could do. I have been telling myself for about 20 years that I could never be a runner. I WAS WRONG! :)

Not only am I running in honor of Diane, but also the many women in my life who have been affected by breast cancer - as well as the countless other breast cancer fighters out there.

PLEASE consider donating - even the smallest amounts help! In the "make a contribution" box on the donation page, you can select "other" and type in your own dollar amount. I have a personal goal to raise $250 - please help me reach that goal!

Cheers!

Hello there. Haven't been here in a while.

So last night my amazing friend, Jen, graciously hosted me in her home for my FIRST home show! It was so fun to chat and get feedback from everyone who came out.  Great networking, new faces and lots of laughs!

Life has been a little....CRAZY....these past couple weeks.  I know I have been somewhat *absent* from the blog and the FB page - part of that is because I have been swampedcrazybusy, but another reason for that is because I am working with my husband to give Alphastar in cyberspace a new look.  I want to add a few more features (shopping cart!!!) and update the graphics, etc.

For those of you who placed orders at the show, I will be back to the sewing table first thing Monday morning.  As far as here and FB, I will be back to regular posting after this weekend - more products - new products - (hopefully) new shopping cart page......stay tuned!

cheers!
