I am self-taught in pretty much everything I do
I see things I love and recreate them in my mind...and then with my hands
I am married to the coolest guy I know and we have the cutest kids you will ever see
I am the middle of 5 kids
I am a coupon-clipper - I have the hardest time buying things unless they are on sale
I have an unhealthy obsession with my iPhone 4
I most certainly do not act my age
When I grow up I want to be a burlesque dancer and rollerderby queen

The basis of alphastar is repurposing.
This is something I have been doing my whole life. It is in my nature to look at something and think, What ELSE could that be used for? or How can I make that better? It has always amazed me the things that other people think are junk just because they need to be repainted or changed a little. I will fall in love with a fabric of a clothing item but hate how it is designed - so I will buy it and turn it into something that I like and will use.
My favorite materials are vintage, fabrics with good textures and stories, things that were once loved and no longer used, items with sentimental value. Essentially what I am doing is taking materials and changing them...helping them evolve into their next life and purpose. And that is why with every alphastar item, I include a tag that tells it's story....what the new item used to be in it's former life.
